EA Sports Active can help you meet your fitness goals. What is EA Sports Active Personal Trainer? It’s a new video game for Nintendo’s Wii that combines exercises and sports activities.  EA Sports joined with Bob Greene, author of The Best Life Diet and best known as Oprah’s personal trainer, to design this game.Actually, the company likes to call Wii Active a “personal trainer in a box” and not a video game.EA Sports Active is the newest Wii workout game, joining the fitness and gaming concept begun by Nintendo’s Wii Fit.This new fitness video game has even greater potential for helping you to meet your fitness goals.

How Will Wii Active Help You Achieve Your Fitness Goals?

Wii Active gives you the ability to have continuous workouts, which is something that Wii Fit does not have.  You keep going through 20 minute circuits that allow you to get your heart pumping. The circuits, or workouts, were developed with fitness guru, Bob Greene.  They allow you to focus on certain areas of your body like cardio or strength training workouts.  You can even link them together to make challenging workout routines.

Wii Active Personal Trainer has the option of designing customized workouts. You can use these for focusing on particular fitness goals.Customize your workout routines as much as you would like to tailor them.  Your virtual personal trainer is also there to give you lots of feedback and lets you know when you need to increase the intensity of your workouts.

The two included accessories make the most of the exercises programmed in the game.  A leg strap attaches to your thigh and you place the nunchuck into the strap.  This allows the game to give you feedback on your leg motions as well as your arms.  The resistance band that comes with the game is used to increase the intensity of the exercises.

Wii Active includes both sports activities and exercises.  Tennis, volleyball, and basketball are a few of the sports activities included. The program also has standard exercises like squat jumps, lunges and lateral raises.Although it isn’t required to play the game, the Wii balance board that comes with Wii Fit is also compatible with the volleyball, inline skating, basketball and cardio boxing activities to name just a few.

The calendar feature tracks your Wii Active workouts. It also tracks your exercise activities beyond the game or outside the game.So if you wrote your bike for 10 miles that day, you would also be able to record that on the calendar within the game.

The 30 day challenge within the program is a great way to avoid boredom in your exercise routine.  The challenge consists of 30 days of 20 minute circuits.  These exercise workouts are designed specifically for your fitness level. It tracks your calories and intensity levels as well.Visual feedback is given with graphs.

A key feature of EA Sports Active is the function of multi-player game play. You can have an exercise buddy use the program right along with you.  You can purchase an additional leg strap and resistance band to complete your 20-minute circuits together.  You can even challenge your workout partner, and the game will tell you who won based on each player’s fitness level.

Achieving your fitness goals has never been easier than with EA Active.  This Wii game has the potential to keep variety in your workouts, as well as providing feedback from your virtual personal trainer to see your progress towards your goals.EA Sports promises expansion pack for this game which they claim will focus on specific areas of the body.
