Most People Now Have Flat Screens In Their Homes
Posted on May 28th, 2009. Filed under: Shopping.Almost all flat screens are high definition capable now by default where as before you had to pay a premium price to get a HD set. The change has truly been made to the flat screen, as it is very difficult to even find a new old style TV in the stores anymore. It has been proven that the LCD and plasma technology is reliable and that they have replaced the old tube technology and are here to stay.
When you set out to buy a flat screen TV now, you have more brands and sizes to choose from than ever before. Everyone wants a flat screen and so all the manufacturers have switched to this technology. A handful of years ago everything was coming out in plasma but now the LCD technology has taken over. When you go into an electronics store this year, you will see that the plasmas are hard to find and most flat screens are now LCD.
For anyone thinking about getting a new flat screen TV, it is a great time to buy one as the competition is high and prices continue to fall. It doesn’t matter whether you decide to get plasma or LCD because both technologies are reliable and your TV sets should last for at least 10 years or more. Prices have come way down from 4 or 5 years ago when they were all just coming out for the very first time. It seems that everyone wants a flat screen and they are somehow finding ways to afford one.
However, the word “cheap” should never be used to describe one of these flat screens. That word is open to interpretation because even the cheapest flat screens today cost more than the old style TVs did. There has really been a resurgence in televisions since the flat screen came on the scene and electronics stores are having to devote a larger section to televisions. People are now quite willing to spend a $1000 on a flat screen when they never would have spent that much in years past on the older style tube TV’s.
