The brother HL 1435 printer, which works with the Brother HL 1435 Toner, was designed specifically for home and personal use and can be connected to a Mac computer or a personal computer. This printer uses the latest in laser technology and produces high quality printouts. It does have 4MB of memory and 1200 x 600 resolution though 4Mb is the maximum memory possible. It can print up to 15 pages in a minute and the largest size media is takes is letter or legal size.

The printer can print on a variety of media as long as it is within the maximum size, and this includes photo paper, plain paper, transparencies, card stock, labels and even envelopes. It does have a manual paper feed bypass so you can print on envelopes and letterhead if necessary. This printer can be connected to your computer using a parallel cord or a USB connection. It operates on Windows 95 or later and Mac OS 8.6 or later.

Unfortunately this printer cannot be hooked up to a network and it is only a printer so it does not have any scanning or copying function. Additional items that come with the printer upon purchase include a DR-400 drum unit, quick set up guide, CD-ROM that contains manuals and drivers, and a TN-430 toner cartridge.

It is a great printer if you need to print out both text files as well as heavy-duty graphics. When printing a few pages it is very fast but when printing longer documents, say at 20 pages, it will pause every few pages. Your documents will appear crisp and clear and of much higher quality then can be achieved using an inkjet.

Most customers comment on how easy to use the printer is and that the software immediately connects you to the Brothers website on subject pages relating to your issue. The company offers excellent trouble shooting information as well as technical support.

Those who have purchased this printer are very pleased with how easy it is to use. Trouble shooting help and other technical support can be found on the Brothers website and the software will directly link to a solution for your problem. It is important to read all of the directions before using.

This Brother printer also cannot connect to your computer through a USB hub. It can only operate using a specific type of USB port and that information can be found in the directions. If you are having trouble making a USB connection then it is very easy to connect using a parallel port cable.
